ACI SERVICES: TRIBAL CONSULTATION

The National Historic Preservation Act recognizes the need for the participation of federally recognized Native American tribes in the federal consultation process and the authority of the Tribal Historic Preservation Officer. ACIs senior staff have received training in the principles of tribal consultation, including consultation with Native American tribes in the Section 106 review process. As a result we are able to assist our clients in navigating areas of tribal concern.

ACI also offers experience in the complex and sensitive consultation processes including the facilitation and assistance with Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) consultation, including evaluating NAGPRA significance and compliance, writing memoranda of understanding, and researching and preparing collections for transfer.
