Recent focus on Everglades Restoration and water distribution and storage projects in South Florida has given ACI an opportunity to further refine South Florida’s predictive model. ACI utilizes the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) model approved by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE), including examination of historic aerial images, land-use history, historic plat and military maps, LiDAR data, soil data, and topographic maps. Several large-scale projects have been completed in recent years and have received ACOE, State Historic Preservation Office, and Seminole Tribe of Florida approval.
