Preservation & Interpretation

Preservation & Interpretation That Keeps the Past Relevant

For communities, historic resources and archaeological sites paint a clearer picture of where they came from — and shape how they move forward. ACI works with public and private sectors to preserve and interpret these resources through historic markers, educational materials, interpretive displays, and preservation planning that make history accessible and meaningful to everyone.

How ACI Can Help

ACI has worked with cities, parks and historic sites to not only develop cultural resource management plans, but also education and public outreach materials, including informational brochures, markers and interpretive displays. We bring together research, expertise in cultural resources, and thoughtful communication to connect the significance of the past with the needs of today.

Core Capabilities

Cultural Resource Management Plans for Projects
Historic resources and archaeological sites are critical aspects of the cultural environment, and developers and planners are increasingly focused on the importance of cultural resources during the planning and development process. ACI works with cities, parks, historic sites, developers, and planners to create management plans that consider potential impacts to resources, including recommendations for site protection, preservation strategies, and education or public outreach.
Development of Interpretive Materials
Posters and brochures are an effective means of communicating history and archaeology to the public, which is why ACI has extensive experience in developing historic markers, interpretive panels, brochures, posters, and displays that make history and archaeology accessible and engaging. Our team has turned research into materials that give communities and visitors a meaningful connection to the sites and stories around them.
Collaboration Across Florida
ACI has worked with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to develop a series of pamphlets that discussed history, archaeology, and preservation in relation to FDOT's mission. We have also collaborated with Historic Spanish Point, NASA, and Florida Scenic Highways to create interpretive panels and displays that provide information to the public about the past — and connect it to the future.
Preservation Planning for the Future
ACI helps developers, civic organizations, communities, and public agencies consider cultural resources early in the project planning process. When we are able to identify a project's potential impact, and recommend appropriate protections, our team can successfully guide clients in balancing preservation with responsible development and future use.

When to Contact ACI

Your Project May Need Preservation & Interpretation Support

Important sites, structures, and objects can be lost to the sands of time unless they are preserved.
