Archaeological Consultants, Inc. (ACI) is always looking for detail-oriented team players with experience in Florida and the southeast. Project to Project basis but anticipate a consistent part to full-time Field Crew position. This position will be responsible for conducting Phase I and II surveys, visual reconnaissance, and providing general administrative support as assigned under the supervision of the Senior Archaeologist and Project Manager. Routine fieldwork, including overnight travel, will be required. All field crews work as a team of two for safety. Company vehicle provided to each crew. This position will be through our Sarasota office, but the successful applicant may live elsewhere in Florida.



    • Minimum current enrollment in a Bachelor’s program; Bachelors preferred, Masters given additional consideration.
    • Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record and access to reliable transportation,
    • Be able to pass security clearance and background check


Preferred Qualifications:

    • 1+ year CRM field experience, preferably in Florida or the southeast
    • Candidate should have strong field skill set and be physically capable of conducting survey in all weather and all environments, from very cold to very hot.
    • Familiarity with GPS skills- Trimble, Collector- and other related software
    • Familiarity with basic artifact identification
    • Ability to follow instructions and apply critical thinking.
    • Knowledgeable of federal laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines related to the field
    • Ability to work on projects or tasks independently or as part of a team.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.



Archaeological Consultants, Inc. (ACI) is looking for a detail-oriented team player who can conduct comprehensive research, quickly and accurately turn-around tasks, and manage deadlines. ACI is in search of a part- to full-time Architectural Historian. This position will be responsible for conducting research and preparing historic context statements, field surveys, drafting reports, and preparing site file forms under the supervision of the Senior Architectural Historian and Project Manager. Routine fieldwork, including overnight travel, will be required. Ideally, this position will be located in our Sarasota office.



The individual must meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualifications Standards (36 Code of Federal Regulations, CFR Part 61) for Architectural History, specifically these standards are:

– A Bachelor’s Degree in architectural history, art history, historic preservation or a closely related field plus a minimum of two years’ experience in cultural resources management;
– A Master’s degree in architectural history, art history, historic preservation or a closely related field (no experience required).

    • Knowledgeable with National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) significance criteria.
    • Knowledgeable about Section 106.
    • Strong photography skills.
    • Knowledge of architectural history terminology.
    • Experience with conducting field surveys for corridors or neighborhoods.
    • Organization, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple projects with deadlines.
    • Effective written and oral communication.
    • Ability to work on projects or tasks independently or as part of a team.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel and Adobe Acrobat.


Additional Skills:
Candidates with experience will be given extra consideration.

    • Previous experience in Cultural Resource Management and/or Department of Transportation projects in particular.
    • Knowledge of GIS
    • Experience reading/understanding roadway/engineering plans/KMZ layer files
    • QA/QC experience
