FIELD CREW

 

Archaeological Consultants, Inc. (ACI) is always looking for detail-oriented team players with experience in Florida and the southeast. Project to Project basis but anticipate a consistent part to full-time Field Crew position. This position will be responsible for conducting Phase I and II surveys, visual reconnaissance, and providing general administrative support as assigned under the supervision of the Senior Archaeologist and Project Manager. Routine fieldwork, including overnight travel, will be required. All field crews work as a team of two for safety. Company vehicle provided to each crew. This position will be through our Sarasota office, but the successful applicant may live elsewhere in Florida.

 

Requirements:

    • Minimum current enrollment in a Bachelor’s program; Bachelors preferred, Masters given additional consideration.
    • Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record and access to reliable transportation,
    • Be able to pass security clearance and background check

 

Preferred Qualifications:

    • 1+ year CRM field experience, preferably in Florida or the southeast
    • Candidate should have strong field skill set and be physically capable of conducting survey in all weather and all environments, from very cold to very hot.
    • Familiarity with GPS skills- Trimble, Collector- and other related software
    • Familiarity with basic artifact identification
    • Ability to follow instructions and apply critical thinking.
    • Knowledgeable of federal laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines related to the field
    • Ability to work on projects or tasks independently or as part of a team.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
